The Vital Question You Must Be Able to Answer

If you started the year the right way you would have created a strategy that would guide you to where you wanted to be at the end of the year.

This strategy should also have highlighted where your business should be at major points throughout the year.

Well, being at the end of the year’s first quarter – you’re at one of those major points.

So here’s that vital question – Where are you?

If you don’t know where you are then you’re lost.

Whilst you’re lost you cannot know where your business will eventually end up. You’ve lost vital certainty and control.

Is your revenue and profit where it should be? Do you have the right amount of customers of the right size? Are you attracting and converting the numbers you planned? Are your products and services delivering as expected?

Whatever the metrics you set, have you reviewed them to check if you are on course?

If you haven’t then now is the time to carry out this vital exercise. (If you haven’t set the right metrics then set them – it’s never too late.)

Once you have reviewed the metrics only then will you know if you’re on course to reach your year-end targets. If you are on course – great. If you’re not then you can now do something about it before it’s too late.

If you haven’t reviewed how this last quarter has gone then please find the time to do this as soon as you can. If you don’t, who knows where you end up.
