If You Value Your Business No.8 – Do What’s Hard

Here’s one of the hardest and yet best things you can do for your business.

We live in a society that takes the path of least resistance. If it’s hard we won’t do it. It’s hard to exercise and keep fit so society is getting fatter. It’s hard to cook fresh meals from scratch so we buy convenience food. It’s hard to grow your own vegetables, it’s harder to buy meat from the butcher, bread from the baker and candles from the…so we buy them all from a supermarket.

In your business it’s easier to respond to problems on your desk, react to emails demanding your time, join unproductive meetings. These things fill your day, you feel you’ve been productive and so you feel good. (That’s dopamine doing that.)

And it’s easier to fill your day, reacting to what is in front of you than find the time to step back and scrutinize just how well your business is going.

Our days are full and will stay that way if we don’t purposefully find and allocate time to make sure that we’re doing the right things for our business and keeping it strong.

Finding time to step back from your business is just one of the many things you need to do to make sure it is strong. A strong business can be successful, a weak one cannot. If you’re not sure how to make your business as strong as possible then find out here – it could make all the difference.
